In Dangerous Angels i was quiet interesting to read that Weetzie Bat was given an opportunity to make three wishes. The wishes she wished for at first, such as world peace reflects how noble she is a person. It also shows that she is a caring individual. However, they weren't within the genie's power to fulfill. The other wishes that she wished for and were granted were more personal. For instance, she wished for a duck for herself' one for Dirk and also a house for them to live happily ever after in.
This lead me to think; what would society be like if people were given an opportunity to make wishes that would come through. What would many people wish for? I can with some degree of certainty declare that it would be money and possible true love. These two things would be the most requested because they affect people lives in many varied ways on a daily basis.
The money will allowed them to increase the quality of their lifestyle. It could enable people to purchase items they would never have owned before or only dreamed of one day owning. It could also provides a sense on freedom; where as the mind is no longer bogged down with strategically planning how every penny would be spent.
Another thing i believe people would wish for is true love. Similar to Weetzie's wish to have her Secret Agent Lover Man and to live happily ever after (19). Many people want the same thing for themselves; to find that person who would love them for who they are and make their life "complete". If people were given the chance to 3 wishes there is a great possibility this would be one.For the simply fact that people would rather spear themselves from the pain of a "broken heart" or investing their time and energy into a relationship that is doomed to fail or inflicts pain and animosity among the people involved such union.
If i was given an opportunity to make three wishes; they would include: true love, a large sum of money that would last for a life time and to live a long successful life.
